2005 – Dasani Bikes

Dasani blue bike project -One of the first and earliest versions of self-service, automated bike sharing systems in existence and was sponsored by the Dasani division of Coca Cola and endorsed by Lance Armstrong.  The system was installed in parks in multiple cities across America starting in late 2005, including Provo, UT, Baltimore, MD, Pittsburgh, PA, Seattle, WA, Greensboro, NC, Madison, WI, Missoula, MT, Lynchburg, VA, and Oceanside, CA.  The program operates approximately 300 bikes contained in locker housings

2007 – Tulsa Townies

This program located in Tulsa, Oklahoma was the first solar-powered, multi-station, fully automated, reporting self- serve bicycle rental and sharing system deployed in America.  This successful program sponsored by the Saint Francis Health System began development in 2005 and is currently being expanded to support the community’s growing demand, currently operating approximately 90 bikes in the system. http://www.tulsatownies.com

 2007 – Freewheelin

A corporate-sponsored project using the CycleStation bicycle sharing and rental technology by one of the largest health care companies in the USA. The system was installed in early 2007 and operated for use by their 8,500 employees in Louisville, Kentucky. The system originally started with approximately 50 bikes in the first phase of the Humana ‘Freewheelin’ program, which was later expanded to around 250 bikes.  Recognizing the values in these types of bike share programs, Humana has since started their own spin-off and in-house bike sharing department for public relations purposes.

DECOBIKE is a Miami-based firm dedicated to providing and operating world-class public bike sharing program to forward-thinking cities and campuses. The initial deployment consists of approximately 1,000 custom DECOBIKES and 100+ solar-powered, automated DECOSTATIONS. These stations offer easy-to-use, environmentally conscious transportation accessible throughout the City.
